Preparing for Pentecost

Don't grieve God. Don't break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don't take such a gift for granted. Ephesians 4:30 The Message

I just wanted to share this prayer... I hesitated to do this, because praying is a very personal thing (although I don't think that praying in public is a bad thing per se, of course). This is my motivation: I want to be open about my faith.

If you came here 'by accident' maybe the Lord wanted you to read this? If you agree with my prayer, you can leave an AMEN - or add your own prayer / reply. Feel free. May God bless you!

Dear Father - please forgive me for living a self-centred life. Forgive me for going against your will many times by following my own desires. I don't want to grieve your Holy Spirit and I am really sorry if I did. Thank you for moving and breathing your life in me and making me fit for You. Even if I don't show it all of the time, I really do love you with all of my heart!

Why am I hesitating to publish a prayer on my blog?

Remember Daniel? He was praying by his window* facing Jerusalem: “When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.” [Daniel 6:10 The Message] Daniel was praying, but NOT because he wanted to show the world that he was such a devout believer. Praying was his normal daily routine! He did what our Lord Jesus (many years later) told us to do: “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” [Matthew 6:5,6 The Message]

God knows my intentions.
