"Some religions teach that life is a cycle in which we are continuously reincarnated. Some teach that we are to practise a life of good works and kind deeds and if God is in a good mood, He might give us bonus points. Some religions teach that God is benign, therefore we are to indulge our whim, "eat, drink and be merry" for that is His pleasure. Some religions teach that man himself is a god who is connected to the universe. They teach that it is this connectivity that makes the world go round. Some religions teach that God is only interested in those who suffer for Him. Other lifestyle movements teach that our equilibrium can only be maintained if we reach out to the being inside of us. Chanting mantras will do this, we are told. However, Christianity teaches that man cannot save himself. Only God can."

amen to that!
Hi, thanks for your friendly comments, onyx73! It is much more appreciated than the awful spam that I am also receiving today! (And these useless comments are immediately deleted by me, of course). Or did you really believe that I am selling viagra to make a living? Come on!
My friend, I respect your opinion, but I don't believe that the Bible teaches that 'good' people are rewarded and 'bad' people punnished. The Christian faith is all about grace and forgiveness!
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
1 Timothy 1:15
The Bible teaches that Heaven can not be 'earned'. It is not a place for 'good' people, it is a place for forgiven sinners!
Jesus is the Way to the Father. He gave His life for you and for me. I don't deserve a thing! It is only because of God's grace that we may receive forgiveness and have eternal life.
Blessings from the Netherlands!
